Blog or no blog?

Awh Deal or No Deal, how we love to hate / hate to love you. A hugely successful 'gameshow' that has somehow survived for years despite relying solely on luck. Whether its Noel Edmunds wacky shirts or the sob stories of contestants, the nation loves it!

There are some cases though when luck does not suffice. When despite a run of amazing luck, some contestants get GREEDY. Case in point - Rich on yesterday's show. He was left with £50,000 and £250,000 in the last two boxes. A win-win situation right? Well when he was offered £165,000 it became a win-win-WIN situation. For some bizarre reason, he said no deal, effectively gambling £105k for the chance of winning an extra £85k. Idiot. Thankfully his greed was punished when he walked away with the £50k, and despite not being a bad pay day, you just know that evil banker was laughing all the way to the, err, bank. I'd pay good money to know the identity of that cretin...

The world's smuggest banker

So usually on Tuesdays we are graced with the presence of James Tully from the Odeon cinema, but unfortunately today he couldn't make it, bed-ridden with food poisoning. I'm guessing it was dodgy popcorn, DEADLY that stuff I tell ya. So I attempted to fill James' shoes and tell you all about the new movie releases this week.

Pick of the bunch is the Muppets, which I had the pleasure of seeing over the weekend. A charming, hilarious, tongue-in-cheek film that masters the Pixar-affect - appealing to kids and adults equally. Great gags, good story and some brilliant songs. My favourite being this which will surely become a Disney classic:

Jason Segel is brilliant, as is Amy Adams, and he alone deserves an Oscar for his "collapse in the rain" moment at 2:24...

Other big releases include Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliff's first post-Potter movie, and a 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace. A truly dreadful movie saved only by an impressive pod race. And that comes from someone who doesn't hate Jar Jar Binks.

This morning on the Breakfast Show, I gave my verdict on Chronicle - the new handheld camera-style film about three teenagers who develop superpowers. Despite a corny description, its anything but, and is an awesome, intelligent movie. Dane Dehaan, the main guy of the three, is surely destined to be THE next big star and is stunning in this. He also looks like a young Leonardo Di Caprio...

"Never let me go Jack..." Oops, my bad
And for those that missed it, here's my full on-air review of Chronicle - the first film in a long time I can't wait to see again just days after watching it the first time.
